SAMBA Project Kickoff
The Sustainable Marketing and Business Ambassadors (SAMBA) project officially began in November 2025, when project coordinators, teachers and company partners met at Mercuria Business College in Finland. The meeting set a strong foundation for the two-year Erasmus+ project, which aims to help VET students learn sustainable business and marketing in a practical, meaningful way.
What we achieved together
During the meeting, we took time to get to know one another better and to revisit the goals, methods and structure of the project. Together, we clarified the practical details, timelines and responsibilities of each partner school, making sure that everyone begins the SAMBA journey with the same information. We also discussed how students will be selected and how the eKampus environment will be used to support the online part of the course, as described in the project plan.
Piloting tools with Synbeyond
We were also joined by Synbeyond, a Finnish sustainability-focused startup, whose participation brought valuable practical insight to the kickoff.
Together with Synbeyond, we piloted tools and processes that will later be used in the SAMBA course, including the sustainability assessment, messaging tools and storytelling steps.
Their feedback helped us strengthen and clarify the materials before they are introduced to students.

Refining the criteria with Laurea
Another important part of the kickoff was the work we carried out with Laurea University of Applied Sciences. With their support, we refined and clarified the evaluation criteria for students’ sustainable marketing materials and for the final SAMBA competition.
Together, we ensured that the criteria support the project’s goals and remain open, transparent, and easy for students to understand and work with.
A strong beginning for the SAMBA journey
The kickoff meeting created a solid foundation for the entire project. The atmosphere was collaborative, open and forward-looking, and all partners left Finland with a clear plan, shared tools and a strengthened commitment to supporting students as they learn to become confident and responsible ambassadors of sustainable marketing
